Spreading God’s love in the new covenant Passover all over the world
Church of God, World Mission Society Church of God has performed diverse volunteer services worldwide such as environmental cleanups, blood drives, helping underprivileged neighbors, disaster relief efforts, and supporting local events. Among them, members World Mission Society Church of God in Suwon in Korea attended at this blood drive on April 7. A blood drive that church of God has performed before or after the Passover worldwide was held with love of the Passover to give new life to people. About 600 church’s members including their families, friends and neighbors participated in this event with a president of Korea Red Cross and a congressman of Suwon. They were offered four bloodmobiles from the blood bank of Gyeonggi.
Blood drives performing Christ’s love
The members of World Mission Society Church of God(WMSCOG) devotional volunteer services and blood donations have been recognized not only in Korea but also around the world with more than 2,000 awards. They have held blood drives continually that around 69,000 people donated precious blood. As one person’s donation of blood can save three people, they have saved more than 200,000 lives. Church of God members willingly take part in all sorts of volunteer services with zeal. They make constant efforts to spread the love of God both physically and spiritually. Even though donating blood can be rather uncomfortable, the volunteers participated with great joy. Their inspiration comes from remembering the great sacrifice of Jesus who shed his blood for the salvation of the world.
The Meaning of Blood Drives in Christ’s Love
2000 years ago, Christ came to shine the light of life, starting in a small village called Galilee in Israel. To the souls who were trapped, wandering in the dark, he gave hope for heaven. Through Christ’s great atonement, he opened the way for human begins to receive the forgiveness of sins. He enabled humankind to walk on the heavenly stairway toward the world where there is neither pain, death nor sorrow. Shedding His blood on the cross, enduring extreme pain, Christ established the Passover of the new covenant (Matthew 26:26-28, Romans 6:23). This feast contains the great love of Jesus for all mankind. the night before His death, Christ said “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before suffer” (Luke 22:15). The Passover of new covenant the promise not only of eternal life but also of the seal of God, protection from all disasters.
Just as Christ shed His blood to save mankind, the members of WMSCOG donate their blood. They hope to aid the blood supply, and help those with illness. Not only will volunteers help to save lives and engage the community but also spread awareness about the Passover, which contains the blood of Christ that gives us eternal life.
